After Liverpool identified Sandhausen’s Patrick Drewes (29) as a player they’d like to pursue, the 2. Bundesliga side are yet to receive an offer for their No. 1 goalkeeper.
“We have not received an offer,” Sandhausen sporting director Mikayil Kabaca confirmed in Thursday’s edition of Kicker. This comes after Sport Bild reported that Premier League side Liverpool had contacted the representatives of Drewes as they search the market for a backup to Alisson Becker.
In the final year of his contract, Sandhausen have the option to extend Drewes’ deal at the club which means that Liverpool would have to pay a fee for the 29-year-old.
With current LFC backup Caoimhin Kelleher (23) seeking more playing time, perhaps elsewhere, and Adrián’s (35) contract also expiring in June, which will unlikely be extended, it means that Jürgen Klopp’s side will have to enter the market for a No. 2.
