Tottenham Hotspur entertained Burnley at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium earlier today as they hoped to earn all three points at home. Spurs made a dominant start to the game and managed to break the deadlock in the dying embers of the first half via Harry Kane’s penalty which gave them a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The North London outfit sat on their slight one-goal advantage well in the second 45 minutes and secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory in front of their home fans.

RM: Emerson Royal – 7/10

The Brazilian sensation performed his defensive duties well and had a few bright moments in the final third.

CM: Rodrigo Bentancur – 7.5/10

He anchored the midfield with conviction and caused a few problems for the Burnley defenders with his passing.

CM: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg – 7/10

Hojbjerg offered decent protection for his teammates at the back but provided very little in the opponent’s half.

LM: Ryan Sessegnon – 7.5/10

Sessegnon was solid at the back and engineered a handful of decent chances for his teammates from the left flank.

RAM: Lucas Moura – 7.5/10

LAM: Heung-min Son – 7/10

Son was always looking to create openings for others around him but failed to register a goal today.

ST: Harry Kane – 7.5/10

The England international was a real handful in the final third and scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot just before the half-time break.

He struggled to get into the rhythm of the game.
