Tonny Sanabria scored twice for Torino as they held Juventus to a deserved draw in the Derby della Mole on Saturday evening and crank the pressure up on the reigning champions.

Scorers: Sanabria 27′, 46′; Chiesa 13′, Ronaldo 79

After the Granata had a big early penalty shout waved away following a rash Matthijs de Ligt tackle on Andrea Belotti, Juventus predictably punished when Federico Chiesa was allowed to waltz through on the left unchallenged to poke under Salvatore Sirigu.

But the Granata levelled things at the interval when Wojciech Szczęsny parried an effort from the edge of the area into the path of Sanabria, who crashed home a header via the underside of the bar.

And it was that pair who were centre of attention again moments after the restart when the goalkeeper could only divert the Paraguayan’s near post strike into the back of his net.

Torino’s late derby heartbreak returned once more though in the closing stages when, after a VAR review, Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed a share of the spoils by diverting in a Giorgio Chiellini pass and only a Sirigu fingertip save to divert a Rodrigo Bentancur strike onto the post prevented Juve from all three points.

The result increases the pressure on the Old Lady in their fight for a top four finish as they are now level with fifth-placed Napoli, while Toro put two points between themselves and the drop zone.
