Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has refused to answer questions on his future, with speculation mounting that he will leave the club this summer.
The France international has been one of the Blaugrana’s stand-out performers this season, playing in almost every game alongside Gerard Piqué and conceding just 13 goals in La Liga.
But rumours have circulated in recent weeks that the 24-year-old could leave Camp Nou thanks to his stalling over a new contract.
Umtiti has a deal with Barça until 2021, but crucially that contract has a release clause of just €60m.
As such, the Catalan giants have been keen to tie the centre back down and insert a new release clause that would be out of reach for most clubs.
The player himself though, has yet to put pen to paper, and when asked about it on French television on Sunday, refused to be drawn on his future.
Speaking to the Telefoot program on TF1, Umtiti took part in a light-hearted questionnaire game in which he was given the option of answering ‘yes’, ‘no’ or ‘joker’ to each question.
Using his joker would be a way of passing on the question, and that was his response on two separate occasions when quizzed on whether he would renew at the Camp Nou or sign for Manchester United.
Umtiti is part of the France squad that takes on Russia in a friendly match in St Petersburg on Tuesday.
