Sampdoria Sporting Director Daniele Faggiano feels that it’s only a matter of time before the Blucerchiati secure the signature of Inter midfielder Stefano Sensi on loan for the rest of the season.

Speaking to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, Faggiano emphasized that the 26-year-old has always been the priority for the Ligurians, and that a deal should be forthcoming for him to join until the end of the season.

Sensi had already looked close to completing the switch to Sampdoria on a dry loan for the rest of the season before the Nerazzuri’s Copa Italia clash with Empoli.

However, the move was put on hold after Joaquin Correa was injured during that match, and the Nerazzurri waited to consider what their transfer strategy would be.

In the end, it looks as though the Blucerchiati will get their man, with the dry loan switch looking to be close at hand before the transfer window shuts.

“As long as there are no signatures he remains an Inter player, but we’re confident,” Faggiano said. “Even if we were already in this position last week. I’ll say that we really hope he arrives, he’s a quality player and was always our first choice.”
