Sampdoria president Ferrero: I want Ranieri to stay

Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero insists he doesn't want to replace coach Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri's contract expires at the end of the season.

“There is talk of meetings with new coaches," Ferrero told ANSA. “But I haven't met with anyone.

“We have Ranieri, with whom I will meet myself soon."

He added: “Now, three games await us in one week. They will not be able to distract us from our targets.

“We are only thinking of winning, of improving our position even further."
