Inter could have done with former striker Keita Balde among their attacking options this season, a report in the Italian media suggested today.

As per FCInter1908.it, the Nerazzurri’s management are on the hunt for a new striker in January to bolster their squad but economic constraints will not allow them to splash the cash.

Keita, who spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Inter, could have been useful to Antonio Conte and the report suggests that they may have some regret about not keeping him now, after he scored in Sampdoria’s 2-1 win yesterday.

The Senegalese forward joined Inter as a winger on a season-long loan from AS Monaco and also filled in at striker when required under Luciano Spalletti.

Playing as the back-up to the starting strikers at the time, he carved out an important role for himself with him scoring four goals in the last six games of 2018.

He then got injured and was sidelined for multiple months and come the end of the season he had a goal tally of five in 24 appearances.

In the end Inter opted against exercising the purchase option they had on him.

Sampdoria signed him on loan from AS Monaco for the season with no cost attached and the report questions why Inter could not have made an attempt for a player who is capable of playing multiple positions and can also provide imagination and plenty of speed.
