Sampdoria coach Roberto D'Aversa insists they didn't deserve defeat to Torino.

Samp lost 2-1 on Saturday, despite taking the lead through Francesco Caputo. Wilfried Singo and Dennis Praet struck for Toro.

“We tried to bring home points, but we have to go out there with the right determination," D'Aversa told DAZN.

“We are talking about a defeat, Torino did better, but there were two of our moves where it could've been a different result.

“Morten Thorsby had a header cleared off the line and Fabio Quagliarella's chance was just wide. We also conceded the two Torino goals too cheaply with our errors, as we should've cut out the crosses earlier. After that head injury, Thorsby also struggled to evaluate the flight of the ball on Singo's goal.

“Anyway, there's no point standing here trying to recriminate on what happened or go over regrets, we have to react and work."
