Mohamed Ihattaren has gone AWOL from Sampdoria.

The former PSV Eindhoven midfielder signed for Juventus on transfer deadline day in August before being loaned to Samp for the season.

De Telegraaf says Ihattaren returned to the Netherlands last week for private reasons, with an agreement to keep the date for his return to Italy open ended.

However, the midfielder hasn't been in contact with Samp officials since then, including blanking calls from president Massimo Ferrero.

Ihattaren is yet to play for Samp after it was deemed by management that he had arrived five kilos overweight. The youngster was placed on a tailored fitness programme and appeared set to make his debut last week.

However, he's since gone AWOL while at home in Holland with it being claimed Ihattaren is upset with the way he's been treated by his loan club.
