AC Milan are set to play Salernitana in a Serie A fixture this weekend.
The Rossoneri will bid to extend their lead at the top of the Serie A table, while Salernitana will continue their relegation battle.
Head-to-head records
Milan have the upper hand in the head-to-head, winning four out of five games. Salernitana’s last victory over Milan in Serie A dates back to 1948.
They secured a comfortable 2-0 win over Salernitana in the reverse fixture this season.
AC Milan
Following the victories against Inter Milan and Sampdoria, AC Milan have climbed to the top of the Serie A table.
The Rossoneri will be hoping to maintain the lead for the remainder of the season to get their hands on the first Scudetto in 11 years.
The home side head into the game on the back of a narrow 1-0 win over Sampdoria, with Rafael Leao scoring the decisive goal.
It is turning out to be a breakout season for the Portuguese forward, who has racked up ten goals and six assists in all competitions.
Stefano Pioli’s side, who are a point ahead of Inter, could extend their lead at the top with a win against Salernitana.
Olivier Giroud, who grabbed the headlines by scoring a double in the derby, will lead the attack in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Salernitana
Salernitana’s first season in Serie A after 23 years has been nothing short of an uninspiring one, as they currently sit at the bottom of the table with 13 points.
However, they are slightly hopeful of making a point against the league leaders after playing out back-to-back draws against Spezia and Genoa.
The visitors are also in dire need of a win to continue their battle to avoid relegation, but the odds are against them when they face Milan.

Key player to watch
Brahim Diaz
Olivier Giroud’s sensational brace in the derby stole all the headlines, but Brahim Diaz’s scintillating cameo as a substitute went under the radar.
The Spanish playmaker breath some fresh air into Milan’s attack in the final quarter of the game and was also highly involved in the equaliser.
He was also at his best during the 4-0 win over Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
Diaz, who is on loan from Real Madrid, will have another chance to impress Stefano Pioli this weekend.
