Inter Milan have been reportedly offered the services of Salernitana striker Federico Bonazzoli as a fifth attacker.

The Nerazzurri currently have four forwards in the attacking department. These are club captain Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, new signing Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic.

On the other hand, Joaquin Correa and Martin Satriano remain outside Simone Inzaghi’s plan. The club is thus working on finding them new accommodation.

And in the meantime, the management is still studying the feasibility of adding a fifth striker to the equation.

So according to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Italian football agent Tullio Tinti has offered Bonazzoli to Inter.

Tinti also represents Nerazzurri head coach Simone Inzaghi.

This would be a return to Appiano Gentile for the 27-year-old who started his career at Inter’s academy.

The Italian eventually left the nest in 2015, signing for Sampdoria. He then embarked on a journeyman career that saw him represent a host of clubs over the last decade.

Bonazzoli has been on Salernitana’s books since 2021, and spent the last campaign on loan at Hellas Verona.

As the source explains, the attacker currently earns 1.5 million euros, a salary deemed too high for Serie B. Yet, the player doesn’t have offers from Serie A.

The Turin-based newspaper reveals that Tinti had also proposed Bonazzoli to Inter last year. Due to his status as an academy product of the club, he would give the Nerazzurri an advantage on their UEFA squad list.

However, the source believes Inter could once again reject the proposal as they did last year, and instead opt for an internal solution in the shape of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Armenian veteran has been featuring as a central midfielder in Inzaghi’s formation. However, he can play in a more advanced role, allowing the coach to switch to a 3-5-1-1 lineup.

This solution could become even more feasible this year with the arrival of Piotr Zielinski who would fill in for Mkhitaryan in the middle of the park.
