Salah and Caldentey win the PFA Player’s Player of the Year awards

Liverpool’s Mohammed Salah and Arsenal’s Mariona Caldentey both won the PFA Player’s Player of the Year awards for the 2025/26 season.

Salah creates history as he becomes the first mens player to ever win the award three times after a stellar campaign for Liverpool last season.

Caldentey won the women’s award in her first season in English football as she came second in the Women’s Super League with Arsenal and won the Champions League in the same season.

PFA Player’s Player of the Year: Mohammed Salah (Liverpool)

PFA Young Player of the Year: Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa)

The English midifielder got eight goals and 11 assists in the Premier League last season for Aston Villa as they finished 6th in the league. At only 23 years of age Rogers played all but one of Villa’s Premier League matches in the 2024/25 season was a major reason why the Midlands side qualified for this years Europa League.

Women’s PFA Player’s Player of the Year: Mariona Caldentey

Last year was Caldentey’s first in English football after she moved to north London from Barcelona and she did not take long to settle in. The Spaniard was key for Arsenal last year as they came second in the WSL scoring nine goals for the Gunners.

Women’s PFA Young Player of the Year: Olivia Smith (Liverpool/ Arsenal)

The 21-year-old became the first £1 million transfer in women’s footballl when she moved from Liverpool to champions league winners Arsenal. The Canadian scored seven times last season and was a key player for the Reds. She is also Canada’s youngest ever senior footballer as she played her first game for her country at just 15 years old.
