Details of a huge row between Sadio Mane and Julian Nagelsmann prior to the latter's sacking by Bayern Munich have been revealed.

Nagelsmann was relieved of his duties at Bayern last week and quickly replaced by former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel following the club's disastrous defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga - a defeat which saw FC Hollywood knocked off top spot in the league table.

A key reason for Nagelsmann's sacking, as explained by sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic in an interview with Sport1, was also a number of 'discipline issues': "Of course there were problems - and we had a few discipline issues. Julian Nagelsmann is a very good coach. But we had a few problems."

The lid has now been lifted on some of the dressing room drama during the young manager's tenure at the Allianz Arena by BILD, with the publication reporting that Nagelsmann partook in a 'furious row' with marquee signing Mane after the UEFA Champions League second leg meeting with Paris Saint-Germain.

According to the report, the manager's position was undermined by a heated argument with Mane in the dressing room after the decision was made to drop the Senegal skipper to the bench for the Champions League game.

The dispute is said to have left Nagelsmann feeling 'intimidated' and he ultimately brought Mane back into the starting lineup for next game against Augsburg in the Bundesliga - a game in which the former Liverpool man bagged an assist.

Mane joined Bayern for a fee of around £35m during the 2022 summer transfer window and has contributed six league goals and four assists at the club thus far.

Where will Julian Nagelsmann go next?

Following his dismissal, Nagelsmann has notably been linked with the vacant managerial role at Tottenham Hotspur.

90min understand that the ex-Bayern manager would be open to taking over at Tottenham, where he would replace Antonio Conte, but would prefer to wait until the summer to make a decision on his future.
