Sadio Mane made his Bundesliga debut for Bayern Munich on Friday night.

Having kissed goodbye to Liverpool on the back of defeat in the Champions League final, the Senegalese sensation moved to another European giant with a passionate fanbase from a sports-loving city.

And while pretty much every Kopite will no doubt have been desperate for him to have stayed this summer, they must equally have seen what was attractive to Mane about a move to the Allianz Arena.

Eintracht Frankfurt 1-6 Bayern Munich

After all, you only had to look at what the 30-year-old got up to during his second appearance for Bayern in the 6-1 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt to see what appealed so much about a Bavaria switch.

Mane was already in the Bayern fans’ good books going into the league curtain-raiser on the back of his debut in the DFL-Supercup, opening his account by scoring in a 5-3 thriller against RB Leipzig.

And he picked up from he left off during a breath-taking first-half at the Deutsche Bank Park in which Bayern raced into a 5-0 lead, joining Joshua Kimmich, Benjamin Pavard, Jamal Musiala and Serge Gnabry on the scoresheet.

It might not have been a goal for the ages, but Mane showed great composure nonetheless as he directed an accurate header past Kevin Trapp from Gnabry’s cross to put Bayern 3-0 up after 29 minutes.

Kolo Muani did manage to pull one back for the hosts in the second-half, but Musiala popped up with his second of the night in the final ten minutes to wrap up a perfect start for the champions.

Mane living his best life at full-time

And boy was Mane soaking up the occasion because to say that he got involved with the Bayern fans who made the trip to Frankfurt would be the mother of all understatements.

While his new teammates partook in the standard post-match applause that you see everywhere in football, Mane marked the victory in truly memorable fashion as he got up close and personal with those in the stand.

The former Liverpool forward could be seen scaling the caging that the away fans were positioned behind, even ending up with a megaphone in his hands and generally looking like he was living his best life.

Considering it was just the opening game of the season, albeit one that turned out to be a huge win, you’ve got to say it’s pretty remarkable scenes, so be sure to check out Mane soaking it all up down below:

Just try telling us that’s not class.

A match made in heaven

If that’s the scenes when Bayern have put three points on the board, then just imagine the party that Mane will be getting himself amongst when, let’s face it, the Bavarians inevitably win the league.

Now, look, it’s not some sort of competition as to who has the better fans out of Bayern and Liverpool, but you’ve got to concede that Germany has some of the best fan culture of any European nation.

Not only do the supporters play a bigger role in how the clubs are run and benefit from cheaper ticket prices, but they also rustle up a fantastic atmosphere like the one you saw Mane immersing himself in.

And that’s exactly why it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Mane has hitherto fit hand in glove with the Bayern project, thriving in yet another club environment where the passion of the fans exists at the heart of everything.

We can’t wait to see how the rest of his season pans out.
