But, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, it is believed he is searching for pastures new this summer.

Romano wrote on Twitter: “Sadio Mané has decided to leave Liverpool this summer.

“He’s ready for a new experience after many special years with Reds – it will be confirmed to the club.

“FC Bayern are strong contenders – but it’s still open and not completed as Sadio wanted to wait for the final.”

Mane’s contract with Liverpool runs out next year. Signed in 2018, the contract was believed to be worth £100,000-per-week. That makes him Liverpool’s 12th highest-paid player at the time of writing, per Spotrac.

It has been claimed that Mane was willing to extend his stay at Liverpool.

According to Bild, per the Daily Star, Mane asked for a bumper £393k-a-week deal.

That fee would have almost quadrupled his wages and made him comfortably the club’s highest-paid player.

Liverpool decided against matching his demands, though, and he is now ready to leave the club and embark on a new challenge.

Bayern Munich are the favourites for his signature. While Mane wants to leave, he’s one of the best players in the world and Liverpool will not want to let him go on the cheap.
