Ryan Sessegnon has revealed the Tottenham squad paid little attention to Antonio Conte's outburst at Burnley earlier in the season.

The two teams face each other again on Sunday in north London, with the hosts needing a win for their pursuit of Champions League football while the visitors look to move clear of the relegation zone.

A typically stodgy affair at Turf Moor saw Spurs create little in attack before Ben Mee struck the decisive goal for the Clarets.

It left Conte reeling and he publicly claimed he would walk away from the job if he felt no improvement could be made, despite having seen his team win at Manchester City in the game before.

Conte recently revealed that his outburst was a tactical decision in order to spark a reaction from the team.

Discussing Conte's outburst, Sessegnon said: "I remember the dressing room being very down. Conte was just disappointed we didn't win.

"That was it. We didn't really pay too much attention to the outside noise. We bounced back."

Sessegnon himself has impressed with excellent performances against both Liverpool and Arsenal in recent weeks, taking advantage of Sergio Reguilon's injury troubles to establish himself in the starting XI.

He added: "He [Conte] always tells us in meetings that the wing-backs are probably the two most important in the team.

"We have to create the width for our team. The attack and the defence is very demanding, physically, up and down. I think it suits me very well.

"He's been very good to give me the faith to play in big games this season. He has improved me a lot on the defensive side.

"You have to be in the right spaces and be in the right areas to affect the games. There's still much more to come from me."
