Tottenham are braced for an approach from West Brom for their assistant coach Ryan Mason, with the Championship club keen on making him their new manager.
West Brom are on the hunt for a new boss after sacking Tony Mowbray last month when the club’s play-off hopes ended.
Former midfielder James Morrison took interim charge until the end of the season, but West Brom are now looking for a permanent appointment.
The Championship club want to hold talks with Mason and Spurs are expecting to receive an official approach this week.

Mason, who is one of Ange Postecoglou’s assistants at Spurs, has been courted by clubs before trying to tempt him into his first managerial job.
Back in October, Anderlecht held talks with the 33-year-old, but he ended up staying at Tottenham.
Anderlecht and Mason mutually decided back then it was not the right time for him to move to the Belgian giants.
It remains to be seen if the former midfielder could now be tempted to make the jump into management.
He is a key part of Postecoglou’s backroom staff, alongside fellow assistants Matt Wells and Mile Jedinak.
Mason has held a variety of positions at Spurs, including two spells as interim manager. He was asked to take charge of the first team in 2021 after the departure of Jose Mourinho and led Spurs to a 1-0 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup Final.
Antonio Conte promoted Mason to his coaching staff when he was appointed, and he had another interim spell in charge towards the end of the 2022-23 season.
