And after three away days during a hectic international break, the holding midfielder is now firmly focused on domestic matters.

Speaking before Celtic’s 2-2 draw at Hibernian on Saturday, Jack said (per the Rangers website): “Aberdeen are going very strongly at the moment.

“Derek [McInnes] and Tony [Docherty] are doing a great job and you see they have been on a good run and have been picking up big results along the way.

“So we know it is going to be a tough afternoon. They always come and give us a tough game so it is one, for us as players, that we know it is a big game and we are looking forward to it.

“We know the test they always give us and they always try to stay in the game, especially up to half time and then they’ll try to hit us on the counter attack.

“I know Derek and Tony are big on set-pieces as well, so we will have to be big and be strong on that side of it as well.”

Victory over the Dons would give the Gers an 11-point lead atop the Scottish Premiership, and instil further belief in Steven Gerrard’s men that they can end Celtic’s stranglehold on the title.
