West Ham could have finished the weekend in third place, but unfortunately for the Hammers, they suffered a 2-1 somewhat-surprising defeat at home against Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace side.
Last season, West Ham started the season with four consecutive losses and managed to finish in 10th.
However, Ryan Fredericks and company say that a 10th-placed finish will simply not make them happy this time around.
“We are a confident bunch and have as good a squad as the top six. That is where we want to be, we have a lot of good players who are way too good to just be happy in the top 10.
“We are a massive club with a massive fanbase and we need to be kicking on now. I think we have the players and the manager to do that.
“We have started well, but Saturday was a big opportunity missed. We know how intense this league is and when you get chances like that, you have to take them.”
After the international break, the Hammers will have a big test when they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton.
