Ruud Gullit on today’s huge Milan derby: “Inter cannot celebrate the Scudetto at Milan’s home” | OneFootball

Milan legend Ruud Gullit has stated that the Rossoneri cannot let Inter win the Scudetto against them, as both sides take on each other in the Serie A later today.

A win for the Nerazzurri will see them win the Scudetto for the first time since the Antonio Conte era and while Milan have been the more recent champions out of the two sides, Inter seem inches away from winning the league once again.

Gullit, who played for Milan, recently spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport about the game later today and he stated that Milan can’t allow Inter to celebrate a Scudetto on their turf. He also stated that Inter are the current favourites to win the game.

“Let’s say that at Milan they would have preferred a different match, let’s say not a decisive one, but given the situation I am sure that they will do everything not to lose. Inter cannot celebrate the championship in a derby at Milan’s home! Having said that we must admit that Inter are playing very well and not just today, last year they reached the Champions League final, they are an excellent team. And I say something that I never wanted to say: they are favorites to win this evening, that’s how it is.”

The last time Inter lost in the derby was at the start of the 2022/23 season, when Milan won 3-2. Since then, the Nerazzurri have beaten Milan in the Champions League semi-final and in the Supercoppa Italiana final. They would want to put another one over their biggest rivals.
