Belgian club SC Anderlecht loaned Joshua Zirkzee last summer without a purchase option. Following his solid performances this season, the Belgian club now want to extend the Dutch’s striker loan.

Joshua Zirkzee has impressed this season for Anderlecht, and it’s no surprise why they want to keep him for much longer. In 31 competitive matches this season, Zirkzee has scored 14 goals and provided 8 assists. Before the loan, the 20 years old was facing difficulties following his cruciate ligament knee injury at Parma last year. And much later on, Zirkzee faced a lot of backlash for the ridiculous miss against Ajax in a friendly match last summer.

However, this loan at Anderlecht has helped shape Zirkzee after the unfortunate injuries and low-confidence problems. Zirkzee has impressed once again and scored his third brace of the season against KAS Eupen, one of them being brilliant bicycle kick goal. Following such solid performances, Anderlecht now want to extend the stay of the Dutch for one more year, but they’re facing problems ahead.

According to Nieuwsblad, Bayern Munich want to sell Joshua Zirkzee to receive more money from his sale, but at the moment, Anderlecht are not ready to pay a crazy amounts of money yet.

The problem is also Zirkzee’s market value. According to Transfermarkt, Zirkzee is valued at 8 million euros, and is one of the three most valuable players at Anderlecht. The Belgian club are trying to refrain buying Zirkzee permanently, due to his high price.

If Bayern Munich somewhat agree on Zirkzee’s loan being extended, they would have to extend his contract at Bayern first. His current contract runs for one more year. But in the end, it will also come down to what the striker himself decides.
