Rudi Garcia refuses to rule himself out of Manchester United interim job

Rudi Garcia says he is not used to commenting on rumours about his career. Oh boy, is he aware of what he has potentially walked into by joining Manchester United on an interim basis?

The former Lyon manager, who was also a success at Lille and AS Roma, has today been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

When asked about the interim rumours, Garcia told canal+ (cited by GFFN): “I am not used to commenting on rumours in my career. I will say nothing on the subject. I neither confirm nor deny.”

Andy Mitten wrote an article for The National stressing that United had already interviewed Garcia for the job, having done the same with former Barcelona gaffer Ernesto Valverde.

Would you be happy with Garcia on an interim basis? Let us know in the comments section and subscribe to our Manchester United newsletter.

There have been more reports doing the rounds suggesting that Lucien Favre and Ralf Rangnick are both in the picture, too.

That should tell you that United are not rushing into a deal but are trying to the best solution after dismissing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday morning, after losing 4-1 to Watford a day earlier.

The first thing I can gather from all of this is Garcia will need lots of media training if he is to come to United where rumours are non-stop.

A simple ‘no comment’ would have made life so much easier for Garcia over the coming days. Heh!
