Veteran Pachuca midfielder Rubens Sambueza has said the highlight of his career was his time in an América jersey.
The Argentinian native, who is now a naturalised Mexican, spent four years with the Azulcrema between 2012 and 2016.
Speaking to EFE about his plans for when his playing days end, the 36-year-old couldn’t help but reminisce about his success with Las Águilas.
“God willing I can continue to be linked to football,” Sambueza said.
“I am doing a technical course. I like it a lot. I am passionate about this.
“I had a good career, with titles and glory, and for me the most beautiful stage was in América.”
Sambueza won four titles with America, two in the league and two in CONCACAF.
The former Argentina U20 international started his career with River Plate, and spent time on loan with Flamengo in Brazil before making the permanent move to Mexico with Tecos in 2009.
