Everton have been linked with a move for Ruben Loftus-Cheek in these final days of the January transfer window by the Daily Mail.
The midfielder couldn’t find a move that suited him in the summer, and so ended up sticking around at Chelsea for the season. He wasn’t expected to play much, but injuries to Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante, plus our hectic fixture list, means he’s actually made 20 appearances already.
Now that we’ve got a fully fit midfield back, and now that Saul Niguez has settled in a little better, minutes will be harder to come by, and it’s easy to see why this move might be tempting for Chelsea, Ruben, and Everton.
We’re huge fans of Loftus-Cheek, but having him sit on the bench is useless for everyone. A move to Goodison Park should be a perfect level for him, and he will be able to play regularly for a team with plenty of ambition – assuming they don’t get relegated, that is…
