Ruben Loftus-Cheek has claimed he would be more than happy to step up and take a penalty for England at the World Cup.
The Three Lions have an abysmal record in major tournament shoot-outs, winning just once in six attempts.
However the 22-year-old has insisted that he wouldn’t shirk any responsibility should they make it to the knock-out rounds.
When asked if he’d be one of the takers the Crystal Palace man replied: “Yes, why not?
“They are those moments which take courage and heart. But I would love to take a penalty. They are a big part of tournament football.”
“They are definitely a big part of training, they are making sure we are ready. We have been taking them every day.”
