Fabrizio Romano has revealed that new Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim is excited to work with young defender Leny Yoro.
The 18-year-old French starlet returned to first team training this week, but he is not expected to make his full return until after the international break when Amorim arrives.
Yoro suffered a fracture to his metatarsal during pre-season in a friendly against Arsenal and has been unavailable ever since. He failed to make a single appearance under Erik ten Hag, who was sacked last week after bringing him to the club in the summer.
With Ten Hag sacked and replaced by Amorim, Yoro now needs to impress another manager, but it sounds like the new head coach is already excited to work with the highly-rated youngster.
Romano provided an update on X after news emerged that Yoro was taking part in training ahead of United’s clash with PAOK in the Europa League.
The Italian journalist wrote: “Good news for Man United as Leny Yoro is training with the squad for the first time since his fractured metatarsal in the summer. Ruben Amorim, looking forward to working with Yoro.”

Yoro is regarded as one of the best young defenders in the world.
Now, after arriving from Sporting, Amorim will be tasked with developing Yoro into one of the best defenders on the biggest stage.
He will have plenty of other young players lean on him to enhance their development, but it’s up to them individually to put the hard work in.
United won’t rush Yoro back given the seriousness of his injury.
Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez have been the first choice central defensive pairing so far this season and that is likely to continue unless Amorim plays three at the back.
