Nice-Matin report this evening that former England manager Roy Hodgson could be set to work with the club’s board as an external advisor over the next few weeks.
The former Fulham and Liverpool coach was spotted at the club’s training ground yesterday, which also saw Lucien Favre’s first session back as manager of Nice.
The two may have crossed paths when the former was Swiss national team manager from 1992 to 1996, and again at the end of the decade once Favre was manager of Yverdon and Hodgson’s Grasshoppers Zurich team.
Hodgson, who most recently managed Crystal Palace and then Watford, could be set to advise INEOS, the owners of Nice, in the wake of Christophe Galtier’s departure to Paris Saint-Germain and ahead of the transfer window.
The fading influence of director of football Julien Fournier and Dave Brailsford’s arrival also signal a shift at the club.
