The draw for the 2021 Concacaf Champions League took place on Wednesday night, the night before 2020 champions Tigres get ready to face off against Uefa Champions League winners Bayern Munich in the 2020 Club World Cup final.

The most interesting tie of the round will involve defending Liga MX champions Club León should Toronto FC win the Canadian Championship.

Otherwise, it will be Forge FC to face León, which would make them the first Canadian Premier League side to ever qualify for the competition.

There are three other Mexican teams involved, with Cruz Azul facing Haitian side Arcahaie FC, who are making their CCL debut. América face last year’s shocking CCL semi-finalists and CCL regulars Olimpia of Honduras, while Rayados face Atlético Pantoja of the Dominican Republic.

In terms of MLS sides, Columbus Crew take on Nicaragua’s Real Estelí while Portland Timbers face C.D. Marathón of Honduras.

Philadelphia Union, who are tournament debutants, take on tournament regulars and Costa Rican giants Deportivo Saprissa, while Atlanta United face Costa Rican outfit Liga Deportiva Alajuelense.
