Rotherham United manager Paul Warne concedes that Newcastle could recall midfielder Dan Barlaser back to the club in January.

Barlaser joined the League One side on-loan in July, but has made just seven starts across all competitions.

The 22-year-old has impressed when handed opportunities but Warne admits he would ‘understand’ him leaving.

“They’ve all added something to our team,” he told Record Sport.

“It wouldn’t surprise me if Dan, Jake (Hastie) or Carlton (Morris) don’t play enough games in December their parent clubs would want to move them.

“I understand that.”

Newcastle host Crystal Palace on Saturday as they aim to continue their strong run of form under Steve Bruce.
