Jade Rose has chosen to wear the No.4 shirt during her time at Manchester City.

The defender becomes the Blues’ first summer signing, joining on a four-year contract having graduated from Harvard University.

A Canada international, she becomes the fifth player to wear the shirt in Manchester City’s professional history, taking over from its most recent owner, Laia Aleixandri.

Aleixandri featured 88 times for the Club, enjoying three seasons with City before leaving the club at the end of 2024/25 to join her childhood club FC Barcelona.

Our first number four was Jess Holbrook in our maiden professional campaign, with Tessel Middag then taking the shirt when joining in 2016.

The midfielder would stay at the Club until 2018/19, turning out 23 times in the process, before Gemma Bonner’s arrival from Liverpool that summer.

When Bonner then left the Club in 2021, the No.4 shirt remained vacant until Aleixandri’s arrival the following summer.
