Roony Bardghji has undoubtedly been the highlight for Barcelona in their pre-season campaign so far.
The youngster not only impressed in training but also scored a memorable goal in his unofficial debut against Vissel Kobe.
In light of his early success in training, Bardghji recently sat down with the club’s official media, where he talked about various topics.
Despite joining the club last month, Bardghji did not hide his ambitions of becoming a star at Barcelona and playing for the club in the years to come.
“I hope to stay here for many years, or perhaps for my entire career if possible. I will work to make that happen and leave a legacy at this club, as great players who gave so much to it have done,” he said.
Bardghji’s first taste of action in a Barça shirt came against Vissel Kobe, against whom the young Swede scored his first goal.
“My first match with the team was great in Japan. It was an amazing feeling, and it became even more amazing after I managed to score a goal. Yesterday’s match was beautiful too, in a beautiful stadium with wonderful fans and a big result,” he said.
Roony’s integration into the first team has gone smoothly, helped by the warm welcome from his new teammates.
“The first days with the team were amazing, the players are kind and take good care of me. I enjoy every day here as a Barça player, and it’s great to join the team on the Asian tour,” he said when asked about settling in.

Bardghji also admitted he is trying to build a bond with other Barcelona players during the Asian tour.
“I always try to spend as much time as possible with the players to get to know them and build a closer bond.
“When we were in Japan, I went out for a walk with Lewandowski and Szczesny. We had a great time, laughed a lot, and made many beautiful memories together. It was a day I’ll never forget with exceptional players and amazing people too,” he said.
When asked to name someone he feels especially close to, Roony added: It’s hard to pinpoint just one player, they’re all great, but if I had to choose someone, maybe Rashford, since we speak English.
“There’s also Fermin and Casado; each person has their own unique personality, and we always talk together,” he added.
Bardghji went on to talk about Hansi Flick and his experience of working with the German head coach so far.
“Hansi is a great person; he knows how to build a good relationship with the players. I feel that our relationship is getting stronger day by day,” he said.
Closing on a personal note, Roony spoke about how much the Barça identity means to him, and how he already feels a strong sense of belonging.
“I have always been a Barca fan and wanted to play with the same philosophy as this club, so it was great to join it. Hansi’s [Flick] style suits me too. I feel like I’m at home here, and I’m also close to a number of players,” he concluded.
