Premiership giants Rangers continued their unbeaten run in the league beating 3rd place Aberdeen by a whopping 4-0 scoreline. The Ibrox club came into this tie with an opportunity to increase the gap between themselves and Celtic to a whopping 11 points, which they’ve now achieved. Although the Hoops have played a couple of games less than the Gers, Steven Gerrard will be quietly confident about the situation. Ryan Kent opened the scoring in the first-half, before Kemar Roofe, Scott Arfield and James Tavernier all got in on the act as well, to finish off what was a dominant display by the Glasgow outfit.

Rangers Player Ratings Vs Aberdeen

Allan McGregor – 7

The veteran keeper wasn’t called into action on too many occasions over the ninety as the Gers were in control of proceedings right from the off. Did make a couple of smart saves to keep the Dons at bay though.

James Tavernier – 7.5

The skipper continued his unbelievable scoring form with yet another goal today after Leon Balogun was brought down in the box in the second half. Can improve defensively but he was electric going forward.

Leon Balogun – 6

The Nigerian international centre-half didn’t have his most effective game in defence tonight as he almost got caught out on a couple of occasions. Did win the second half penalty though.

Connor Goldson – 7.5

The Englishman put up a dominant display in the heart of the defence for Steven Gerrard’s men yet again, as he effectively pocketed Sam Cosgrove. Played a good ball ahead of Kemar Roofe’s goal as well.

Borna Barisic – 7

Didn’t allow Hedges the space he needed to get in behind, and was quite solid defensively. Despite not being up to his usual standards, got forward and helped out in attack when required to as well.

Scott Arfield – 7.5

The midfield ace was rather fortunate to see his skied effort take a massive deflection and find its way into the net in the second half.

Ryan Jack – 7

The Scottish midfielder put in yet another composed display in the core of the side, as he acted as the main link between the lines. The best word to describe Jack’s performance would have to be typical.

Joe Aribo – 7.5

The Nigerian attacker’s good run of form in the league doesn’t seem to be slowing down, as he put in yet another solid shift in the role. Made some good attacking contributions and defended well too.

Kemar Roofe – 8

The Jamaican striker was supremely composed in front of goal as his general movement and build-up play were both sensational. Showed unreal quality with the finish for his goal as well.

Alfredo Morelos – 5

The Colombian striker was undoubtedly the worst player on the pitch today as he struggled to get used to the pace of the game. Looked slightly better in the second half but was rightly substituted.

Ryan Kent – 7

The English speedster did well to open the scoring but had a couple of other opportunities that he seemed to waste entirely. Caused the Aberdeen defenders problems with his pace but needs to offer more.

Substitutes

Steven Davis – 6

Passed the ball around in a composed manner and didn’t do too much wrong after coming on.

Glen Kamara – 6

Showed good movement and collectedness with the ball at his feet, and tried to pick out some passes.

Jermain Defoe – 6

Had a couple of opportunities in front of goal where he opted to pass instead of going for goal.

Ianis Hagi – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.

Cédric Itten – NA

Didn’t have time to make an impact.
