Jorge Mendes offers Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window

Speaking to 7Gold via Tutto Juve (h/t JuveFC), Italian journalist Fabio Santini has revealed that Jorge Mendes has offered Manchester United the opportunity to re-sign football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

The 36-year-old has continued to be one of the sole shining lights in what has been a dissapointing season for Juventus. The Old Lady who have dominated Serie A of late are now struggling to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

It is no secret that a rebuild is the need of the hour in Turin. Whether Ronaldo will stay put to be aprt of it is another question.

The player received much criticism for Juventus’ meek exit from the Champions League against Porto this season. The player appears to have had enough and is eyeing a move to familiar haunts.

His agent, Mendes has offered him to United on a two-year deal. Interestingly, Ronaldo also appears to be available for a lower wage than what he currently earns in Turin.

A question of money

He currently earns a whopping £27million a year at Juventus. While United are keen on a reunion, the wages remained a major concern. With Ronaldo now willing to take a comparatively lower £20m per year, it remains to be seen what United think.

It was reported earlier that United wanted Ronaldo to take a 50 per cent pay cut. Doing so will yet see him rank amongst the highest-paid players at Old Trafford.

It remains to be seen if Ronaldo is willing to lower his demands in order to push through the move to United.
