Manchester United are striding into a brave new era under Erik ten Hag this summer.

After the Ole Gunnar Solskjaer project ran out of steam last season and Ralf Rangnick failed to pick up the pieces, the Red Devils are investing their faith in the former Ajax manager to return them to former glories.

It’s going to be an incredibly tough ask for Ten Hag as the Old Trafford club goes through something of a transitionary period with the likes of Paul Pogba, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata all departing.

A huge summer for Man Utd

And although exciting moves for Frenkie de Jong, Jurrien Timber, Antony and more have been touted, United have hitherto failed to secure their first major signing ahead of the 2022/23 season.

And for all the outings and incomings touted at the ‘Theatre of Dreams’ this summer, Ten Hag still won’t be able to achieve success in England if he doesn’t get the best out of United’s current crop.

There are plenty of players at Old Trafford who are right up there with the Premier League‘s finest, but simply haven’t shown their top-class ability over the last 12 months for whatever reason.

From Marcus Rashford to Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho to Bruno Fernandes, there is no shortage of ballers in the United dressing room that know they can do much better than what they managed in 2021/22.

And while we won’t truly know whether or not United’s strugglers will rediscover their form under Ten Hag until the season gets underway, there have been some promising early signs in pre-season.

Man Utd stars looking in incredible condition

Even before the Red Devils squad are set to officially reconvene for their 2022/23 preparations, there have been several members of the team who have been showing off just how hard they’ve been working.

Well, that, or simply showing the world what incredible shape they’re in ahead of the Ten Hag era.

Here at GIVEMESPORT, we’ve already pointed you in the direction of the ripped physiques of players like Scott McTominay and Axel Tuanzebe in recent days, but there have simply been too many United stars looking in tip-top condition not to provide you all with a round-up.

If nothing else, it looks as though Ten Hag will have a United squad which is going the extra mile to ensure that they’re in peak condition on his hands, so be sure to take a look for yourselves down below:

Marcus Rashford

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Anthony Elanga

Axel Tuanzebe

Scott McTominay

Cristiano Ronaldo

A promising indicator

Now, don’t get it twisted, simply having a chiselled torso reminiscent of the Love Island stereotype isn’t an automatic indication that you’re fit, healthy and happy.

It’s important to remember that professional athletes – as well as everyday people like you and I – in peak physical condition can come in all different shapes and sizes. There’s not one ‘right’ or ‘true’ healthy body type.

In the case of these United players, the context and timing is key with the likes of Rashford and Tuanzebe clearly putting in the hard yards to enhance their strength and conditioning ahead of the new season.

And the fact that these individuals have reached the dizzyingly high level of professional football helps to show that their body types have assisted them along the way to reach the physical demands that come with it.

So, sure, none of this necessarily means that Wan-Bissaka, Elanga or McTominay are about to have the seasons of their lives, but the evidence suggests that they’re working hard to raise themselves to a physical standard where they can optimise their chances of doing so.

And in an hour of reckoning such as the one United find themselves in right now, a lot worse things could be happening than their players doing everything to succeed under Ten Hag next season.
