Karim Benzema has been on fire in the 2021/22 season.

The Frenchman is having his best ever campaign in front of goal.

The 2021/22 season is the first time that Benzema has managed to score over 25 goals in a league campaign.

But who are the players that have recorded the most seasons with 25 or more goals in Europe’s top five leagues since 2000?

@ThePopFoot have listed the 16 players to have done just that and they’ve created a nifty graphic to show their findings.

View it below…

Players to have seasons with 25 or more league goals in Europe’s top five leagues in the 21st century:

16. David Villa – 2

15. Edin Dzeko – 2

14. Wayne Rooney – 2

13. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – 2

12. Gonzalo Higuain – 2

11. Thierry Henry – 3

10. Samuel Eto’o – 3

9. Ciro Immobile – 3

8. Harry Kane – 3

7. Kylian Mbappe -3

6. Edinson Cavani – 4

5. Luis Suarez – 4

4. Zlatan Ibrahimovic – 5

3. Robert Lewandowski – 6

2. Cristiano Ronaldo – 12

1. Lionel Messi – 12

Yet another graphic which displays Ronaldo and Messi’s insane goal scoring exploits.

They have both had 12 seasons where they have notched 25 or more league goals. That’s ridiculous.

Neither player have been able to manage that mark this season, though. With Ronaldo and Messi now 37 and 34 respectively, it remains to be seen whether they’ll add to their tallies.

At 22 years old, Mbappe already has three. He’s surely going to add many more to his tally.

Only two players have managed 25 or more league goals in a single season for three different clubs: Ronaldo (Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus) and Ibrahimovic (Inter Milan, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain).
