Portugal will face South Korea at the Education City Stadium this Friday as they focus on getting that one point to remain at the top of the table in this 2022 FIFA World Cup clash. The Portuguese players secured a 2-0 victory over Uruguay recently which will keep them in high spirits ahead of this game.

Fernando Santos will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a couple of changes to the starting XI for this game. We can expect Rafael Leao to play from the start in the left-wing position.

Portugal fans

Diogo Dalot will replace Joao Cancelo as the right-back while Raphaël Guerreiro gets the chance to put in a good performance on the opposite flank. Both of them would be eager to get forward and create some decent chances for their teammates up top.

Pepe and Cancelo will have to settle for a place on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

William Carvalho and Joao Palinha could pair up as the holding midfielders to establish their superiority over the opposition in the middle of the park.

Joao Felix will play as an advanced attacking midfielder to try and create opportunities in front of the goal.

Ruben Neves will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if Santos decides to call upon his services.

Attack

As mentioned earlier, Rafael Leao will get the chance to catch the eye as the left-sided wide player while Bernardo Silva hopes to create some decent chances from the right flank.

Cristiano Ronaldo will spearhead Portugal’s attack yet again as he fancies his chances of finding the back of the net.

Bruno Fernandes and Andre Silva will be available for selection on the bench as they await their opportunity to influence the game in the second half if required.
