Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Casemiro sent Real Madrid through to the last 16 of the Champions League.

With a 3-1 deficit to overturn, it was no surprise that the home team flew out of the blocks in the opening few minutes.

But the game was changed on 51 minutes. A cross from the left found Ronaldo, who headed in at the back post for a 1-0 lead.

Les Parisiens didn’t look like getting back into it, but on 70 minutes, they miraculously did.

Some pinball in the Madrid box saw the ball come off Cavani, who inadvertently poked the ball in from close range.

But their glimmer of hope didn’t last long, as with 10 minutes to go Los Blancos took the lead again.

Casemiro found himself on the edge of the area, and despite his shot hitting it defender, it looped over the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
