If you say the name Ronaldinho in a crowd of younger football fans, be prepared for them all to wax lyrical about him for a few hours or so.
There are few footballers on the planet more universally adored than the ever-smiling Brazilian and there’s good reason for that.
For much of the 2000s, Ronaldinho was far and away the best footballer on the planet and he managed to achieve that status by playing the most entertaining brand of football possible.
Whenever he took to the field in a Barcelona shirt, Ronaldinho pretty much always left those watching open-mouthed at one point with a snippet of brilliance.
That would often be a sumptuous piece of skill or an outrageous goal, although his passing ability was also good enough to stun those enjoying him weave his magic on the pitch.
Ronaldinho was able to slice through opposing teams with passes that mere mortals were unable to see – or perhaps afraid to attempt.
To put it simply, the two-time FIFA World Player of the Year is one of the greatest playmakers the beautiful game has ever seen.
And if you’re one of those that needs to see visual evidence before you agree with that statement, today is your lucky day.
A video of Ronaldinho’s ’20 best passes’ in a Barcelona shirt has gone viral on social media and trust us when we say that you’ll want to watch the footage more than once.
Take a look at one of the best video compilations from 2022 thus far here…
No-look passes, delicate and precise flicks round the corner, dinked through balls and much, much more, it’s a passing montage that belongs in a footballing museum.
The only minor downside is that the passes didn’t all result in goals, although that is something that proves you cannot judge a player solely on their stats – which has become commonplace in recent years.
Ronaldinho’s numbers from his time as a Barcelona player are still world-class, though, hence why the majority of football fans recognise him as one of the all-time greats.
In 207 games with the Spanish side, Ronaldinho scored 94 goals and assisted a further 71. Not bad, eh?
