Ronaldinho is confident Neymar will return even stronger from his broken foot injury and expects the Paris Saint-Germain star to play a huge role for Brazil at this summer’s World Cup.
Neymar has been sidelined with a fractured fifth metatarsal since he was stretchered off during PSG’s 3-0 win over Marseille on 25 February.
But though the 26-year-old is unlikely to feature again for the treble-chasing Ligue 1 champions this season, he is currently recovering from an operation and is understood to be on course to be fit in time for the World Cup – which kicks off in Russia on 14 June.
And Ronaldinho – who played for PSG between 2001 and 2003 – expects the world’s most expensive player to come back with a bang.
“I hope so, everyone’s expecting him. I think he’ll do it, I think he’ll be in good shape,” the 38-year-old told Ligue1.com.
“I think he’ll do his job well and help Brazil win the World Cup, that’s what I hope, that’s what all Brazil hopes.”
