Barcelona enjoyed the majority of possession throughout the 90 minutes, having over 70% of the ball but mustering up just one shot on target.

Jaime Mata slotted home from the penalty spot after a contentious decision was given against Frenkie de Jong for a foul on Djene Dakonam.

Lionel Messi struck the post in the first half before Ansu Fati, who started on the bench, forced a brilliant save from Getafe goalkeeper David Soria.

Chucho Hernandez was then denied by the woodwork for the hosts as Barça’s defence was left open on the break, before Barça hit the bar in the final minute.

Koeman’s side have missed the chance to move to the top of LaLiga after Real Madrid lost to Càdiz earlier on Saturday.
