Ronald Araújo will meet medical specialists tomorrow in order to come up with a treatment plan for his injury, report AS.

As communicated previously, the Uruguayan suffered a muscular injury in the right adductor whilst away on international duty. The big question that the player and the medical staff want to discuss is whether or not Araújo should undergo surgery in order to speed up his recovery.

Whether he chooses to have surgery or not, he will be sidelined for at least six to eight weeks, meaning he will probably not play in a Blaugrana shirt until at least January 2023.

However, if he does recover by mid-November, he would still be able to make the World Cup squad and represent Uruguay on the biggest stage of international football.

Nonetheless, Araújo’s injury will still be a major issue for Xavi, especially considering that Barcelona have El Clásico as well as Champions League matches against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan coming up before the World Cup break.
