Vinicius was at the heart of victory as he scored the opener before setting up Karim Benzema’s third goal in brilliant fashion.

However, the Brazilian was on the receiving end of some tough treatment following his constant altercations with Barca players.

Vinicius was seen tussling with Gavi and Ferran Torres, while he also irked the home fans with his wild celebrations.

During the final minutes, Araujo was booked for shoving Vinicius to the ground after the Brazilian winger got under his skin.

While the South American duo share a great camaraderie, Araujo couldn’t cope with the Brazilian’s antics and asked him to focus on football.

Speaking after the defeat, the Uruguayan defender said (h/t Mundo Deportivo): “I got a little heated because he was talking to my teammates the entire game, taunting them.

“I’ve always said he is a great player who will get a lot better if he’s only focused on playing. I’m always respectful, but he was talking a lot and I got a little heated.”

The on-field battle between Araujo and Vinicius has been one of the highlights in recent Clasicos, with each sharing equal success.

The Uruguayan centre-back was shifted to the right-back slot to nullify the threat of Vinicius and has had success on several occasions.

However, Vinicius came out on top last night with a scintillating display to send his side through to the Copa del Rey final.
