Romelu Lukaku will report back to Chelsea today despite transfer struggles | OneFootball

Romelu Lukaku will return to Chelsea’s training ground today, David Ornstein has just reported.

This shouldn’t be big news – we all knew this was his due date to return – but there had been some fears he would go on strike to try and force a move. Fortunately, that hasn’t happened. The club and their striker want the same thing – for him to move on – and so for now it seems they’re happy to keep working together to make that happen.

There is interest from Juventus, but it still feels a long shot, as they will need to find a taker for Dusan Vlahovic to make it happen.

The main squad have departed on the USA tour, making it possible for players like Lukaku who are trying to leave to return to training without infecting the first team with any bad vibes.

Ornstein reports that Lukaku, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Hakim Ziyech will form the final cluster of players on the exit ramp who will report back to the training ground today.
