In this case, Romelu Lukaku is both players. The rumour in the Sun today is that PSG are interested in signing the striker, solving both problems in one go.

Sadly, that sounds just unbelievably unlikely. Lukaku is still a top striker, despite his bad year, but even the teams who rate him most highly (and that may well include PSG) are not going to be willing to pay anything like what Chelsea will want for him.

Barring a late-season splurge of goals, we’re going to be lumbered with the Belgian for some time, and juts have to figure out a way of making it work.
