Inter striker Romelu Lukaku has called for the Red Devils to appoint former Arsenal star Thierry Henry as the next head coach. In an interview with Sky Sports Italia Lukaku tipped Henry to be the successor to Roberto Martinez. Martinez left the role after a disappointing World Cup campaign which saw Belgium knocked out during the group stages.

Lukaku said “He has the respect of all the players, he has won everything. He knows how to coach, he knows what we have to do to get there. He knows the team, the league, the staff. For me he is the ideal coach for our national team”. Henry has been the head coach of a club twice, the first being a short stint with Monaco before taking over at Montreal Impact. He is currently an assistant coach with the Red Devils, his second stint with the national team.
