Roma’s Leonardo Spinazzola before Bayer clash: “We’ve got to push harder, it’s not impossible.”

Just before Roma kick-off against Bayer Leverkusen, left back Leonardo Spinazzola insisted it’s not mission impossible against the newly minted Bundesliga champions.

The Giallorossi host Xabi Alonso’s men this evening for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final tie—with a trip to the final later this month in Dublin on the line.

“We know they are really strong; they’ve proven it this year, but it’s not impossible,” the defender told Sky Sport.

“They’ve got strong players and most of their squad is healthy. Their confidence and self-esteem are going to be incredibly high, but we can’t feel inferior. We’ve got to push harder than them.”

Adding, “Given our quality, we can beat them if we push harder.”
