Several areas could be invested in this summer, and barring the obvious positions, there is a growing need for defensive coverage, and AC Milan are beginning to look into the right-back market.

The upcoming market is where Milan will have to be most shrewd. Key areas need investment, but there are profiles that the club can benefit from in years to come. However, the price must be right. It must be a market of opportunities more than anything.

One of the areas being investigated is at right-back, where coverage is slim. Davide Calabria, the club captain, will play most games, but there have been questions about him this season, and his contract renewal is at a stand-still, Alessandro Florenzi is a good deputy, but he is ageing, and Pierre Kalulu offers desperate assistance when needed.

Therefore, there is a need, or maybe desire, to invest. As Fabrizio Romano reports on his YouTube channel (via Radio Rossonera), Milan are interested in Emerson Royal and Tiago Santos.

The Brazilian full-back will leave Tottenham in the summer as part of their reshuffling. Alternatively, there is Santos, who has been an interest of Milan’s in recent times, as we reported earlier this season, and his arrival could be boosted if Paulo Fonseca arrives in the technical area.
