Alvaro Morata’s time at AC Milan has already come to a conclusion, and given the Rossoneri have added another striker, it is an understandable move.
Arriving after the conclusion of the European Championship, a champion, Morata’s arrival in Milano would have hopefully signified a chance for the club to continue moving forward. However, he arrived with questions being asked about the move.
The profiles of the Spaniard and other summer targets were much different, so the deal was viewed negatively quickly, and with him failing to hit the ground running, concerns grew.
As the season progressed, talk about the need for another forward presence intensified, and the arrival of Santiago Gimenez was confirmed this morning, but only after news about a potential departure for Morata.
Today, Fabrizio Romano has effectively confirmed that the striker has left the club, stating he is a ‘new Galatasaray’ player already. The deal is ‘set to be sealed’ and his new club are currently in the process of arranging travel from Italy to Türkiye.
Morata’s time at Milan went how no one would have hoped it to, even if the initial reactions were somewhat negative. However, all parties can now hopefully benefit from new starts.
