Cristiano Ronaldo does not want to leave his Saudi Pro League (SPL) club Al-Nassr, despite rumours linking him with an exit.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano claims there is no truth in reports suggesting the Portuguese star could become Lionel Messi’s teammate at Inter Miami.
The 40-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the season, but he has reportedly declined to enter into any negotiations with other clubs.
Discussions between Ronaldo and Al-Nassr over a new contract are ongoing.
Ronaldo has been in excellent form this season. He scored two goals in Friday’s game at Al-Hilal, helping his side record their 16th victory in the SPL.
However, they are eight points behind leaders Al-Ittihad, who are on course to lift their 10th league trophy.
Ronaldo, who is one of the richest footballers in the world, joined Al-Nassr in 2023 after mutually terminating his contract with Manchester United.
His move to the Middle East has been very successful. Despite his age, the Portugal international has continued his impressive goalscoring feats in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo scored 35 goals to set a new SPL record last season. He has added 30 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions this term.
