Chelsea reportedly ‘never considered’ adding in a particular player in the potential deal to sign a new £125m striker this summer window, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

There’s bene plenty of rumours doing the rounds over the last days, weeks, and even months as we built up to the longest and busiest transfer window of the year this summer, and we always knew that Chelsea were going to be one of the busier clubs in terms of outgoings and arrivals. They have been working hard on some transfer deals already.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea now keen on signing versatile Bayern Munich attacker this summer! 👀

They clearly want to bring in a top new striker, and that led them to be linked to Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak earlier last week, a move that would have united and exited the Blues fan base. But naturally, Toon did not want to sell one of their best players this summer, and Chelsea would have needed big bucks to pull that one off.

Did Chelsea offer Nicolas Jackson into the deal?

Jackson going nowhere

Rumours circulated that Chelsea were considering offering their own striker Nicolas Jackson into any deal to try and sign Isak this summer. However, that has now been fully put to bed by Romano, who was speaking on his latest ‘Here We Go’ Podcast yesterday.

Romano said: “Chelsea view Nicolas Jackson as really important, they never considered adding him in a deal for Isak.”

And what about if Chelsea wanted to sign Isak alone without adding players into the deal to go the other way? Well, that would have been VERY expensive.

Romano continued: “Newcastle also would have wanted £120m-£125m to sell Isak.”

At least it is good to know that Jackson was never going to be offered into it anyway. I do wonder if that is now the last we have heard on this rumour for now at least, being as Isak would be so expensive.
